A strong reputation needed a clearer commercial story.
Translate technical capabilities into a clear commercial offer and give estimators the information needed to evaluate incoming work.

Where the work began.
An industrial services business had grown through referrals and repeat customers. Its technicians understood why plant managers trusted the company, but the website mainly listed equipment, capabilities and years in business.
A new buyer still had to decide whether those capabilities matched a particular operating problem. Estimators also needed enough information from an inquiry to understand the work before preparing a quote.
02 / The approach
What we did.
RFA paired a positioning lead with an experienced commercial advisor. Working with operations, estimating and sales, they organized the offer around three buying situations: planned maintenance, unplanned downtime and capacity expansion.
Each situation called for a different conversation. Planned maintenance depended on shutdown windows, asset condition and scope. Urgent work required clarity about mobilization, site access and available capacity. Expansion projects needed discussion of installation sequencing and coordination with other contractors.
The team developed service pages, qualification questions and proposal outlines around those differences. Inquiry forms captured equipment type, facility location, operating conditions, required completion dates and available drawings or photographs. An internal handoff checklist identified the information estimators needed before preparing a quote.

- Service page and proposal structure
- Inquiry qualification fields
- Estimator handoff checklist
- Commercial measurement plan
04 / The outcome
What the work established
The work established a commercial offer organized around customer buying situations, supported by service page content, proposal outlines, qualification fields and an estimator handoff checklist.
The engagement also defined a measurement framework covering inquiry completeness, time to prepare a qualified estimate, conversion from quote to order and fit with preferred capabilities. These criteria connected the commercial story with the practical quality of incoming work.
Our old website listed everything we could do. It didn’t explain when a plant manager should pick up the phone. Organizing the offer around actual operating problems made it much easier to explain where we fit.
