YOUR OBJECTIVE COMES FIRST
Order-to-fulfillment handoff
Connect a technology change to the way work gets done.
The Arizona Commerce Authority highlights aerospace, manufacturing, bioscience, business services and technology as key sectors. A useful scoping example is engineering handoffs for an equipment build. Follow a build configuration, component reference and test result through the work with engineering, production and quality. A component substitution changes the evidence required before release. Who accepts a configuration change before it reaches the build team?
Arizona Commerce Authority: industry context ↗01Name the operating problem
Describe where work stalls, which people reconstruct missing information and what decision is delayed. Use real records to distinguish a process problem from a missing capability. The transformation brief should state the outcome before listing systems to buy.
02Agree on the future handoff
Define the record, status and owner at each step. Identify which checks remain manual, which can be configured and which need a new connection or application. Make responsibilities explicit across internal teams and external providers. Working example: A shared readiness checklist and status model.
03Sequence dependencies into usable releases
Separate data preparation, access, system changes and training. Choose a first release that improves a complete task rather than delivering disconnected components. Keep unresolved vendor or organizational decisions visible in the plan. For engineering handoffs for an equipment build, agree how engineering, production and quality contribute where those functions are involved.
04Measure adoption with operating quality
Review whether staff use the changed process and whether work reaches its intended outcome. Include exceptions, corrections and support effort. Give people a way to report that a new step creates an obstacle, then assign an owner to decide what changes. Review check: Teams can identify why an order is blocked and who can resolve it.
