01Connect the request with an operating plan
Describe what new capital would fund, which decisions it enables and what the business expects to learn or deliver. Separate committed spending from assumptions. A use of funds narrative should agree with the practical hiring, product and commercial plan.
02Make commercial evidence easy to inspect
Distinguish customer interest, active opportunities, contracted revenue and repeat usage. State how measures are defined and which period they cover. Keep material assumptions visible rather than choosing a metric solely because it makes a slide look stronger. Working example: Metric definitions and evidence index.
03Organize supporting information
Identify the records needed to explain the company, its ownership and its business performance. Assign document owners, version dates and access permissions. Financial, legal and transaction questions should be reviewed with the company’s appropriate professional advisors. For engineering-program configuration handoffs, agree how program management, engineering and quality contribute where those functions are involved.
04Prepare for questions and gaps
Use a readiness review to locate weak assumptions and unanswered operating questions. Develop a consistent account of the business, risks and next milestones. A clear gap with an owner is more useful than a confident answer unsupported by records. Review check: A reviewer can trace a claim to its definition and period.
