YOUR OBJECTIVE COMES FIRST
Include hiring, setup and support dependencies.
Make the funding conversation traceable to the business.
Missouri’s statewide economic development strategy identifies food and beverage processing, biotechnology, and finance and insurance among its industry clusters. If the engagement concerns an offer or operating plan supporting multi-branch service-account coordination, use an account identifier, branch request and service commitment to make the assumptions concrete. Connect the operating milestone to the proposed use of funds, accountable owner and evidence available for review. Which branch-specific commitment applies to this request? This is a planning check, not evidence of an investment return or future funding.
Missouri Department of Economic Development: industry context ↗01Connect the request with an operating plan
Describe what new capital would fund, which decisions it enables and what the business expects to learn or deliver. Separate committed spending from assumptions. A use of funds narrative should agree with the practical hiring, product and commercial plan.
02Make commercial evidence easy to inspect
Distinguish customer interest, active opportunities, contracted revenue and repeat usage. State how measures are defined and which period they cover. Keep material assumptions visible rather than choosing a metric solely because it makes a slide look stronger. Working example: Use of funds and readiness dependency map.
03Organize supporting information
Identify the records needed to explain the company, its ownership and its business performance. Assign document owners, version dates and access permissions. Financial, legal and transaction questions should be reviewed with the company’s appropriate professional advisors. For multi-branch service-account coordination, agree how account teams, branch operations and service coordination contribute where those functions are involved.
04Prepare for questions and gaps
Use a readiness review to locate weak assumptions and unanswered operating questions. Develop a consistent account of the business, risks and next milestones. A clear gap with an owner is more useful than a confident answer unsupported by records. Review check: The spending plan agrees with the operating sequence.
