01Infrastructure with continuing ownership
Define the platforms, service expectations and incident responsibilities the employee will inherit. Separate engineering changes from routine support and identify escalation partners. Ask candidates to explain reliability decisions, recovery work and collaboration with other teams, including how they knew an improvement worked beyond the initial deployment.
02Cybersecurity with a focused mandate
Clarify whether the need concerns application security, infrastructure, incident response or a wider program. Identify decision authority and technical assessment owners. Relevant examples should show how candidates evaluated evidence and worked with operational colleagues rather than suggest that one person can own every security discipline equally.
03Data and financial visibility
For a data or finance hire, describe the source systems and management questions the role supports. Define field ownership, reporting responsibilities and the decisions that depend on the output. Assess how candidates handled inconsistent information and communicated its limits to people responsible for acting on it.
04Leadership across connected functions
A technology or finance leader needs clarity about resources, stakeholder expectations and the change required. Explain what existing managers will hand over and where authority remains shared. State the actual workplace, attendance and travel requirements so the mandate and the working arrangement are both assessable from the start.
