RIGHT FIT ADVISORS / CONNECTICUT

Strategic partnership advisory
in Connecticut.

A promising introduction is not yet a workable partnership. RFA helps businesses in Connecticut define the commercial or delivery objective, the capability a partner should contribute and the operating relationship required, so both organizations can assess a focused opportunity. Referral partners need the same understanding of a suitable opportunity.

YOUR OBJECTIVE COMES FIRST

Define what the receiving team needs before outreach.
Start with the capability the partnership must add.

AdvanceCT identifies advanced manufacturing, insurance, financial services, life sciences and technology among Connecticut’s key industries. If the engagement concerns an offer or operating plan supporting insurance operations and specialist review, use a policy-service request, supporting document and reviewer decision to make the assumptions concrete. Agree what each partner contributes, who accepts the handoff and who remains responsible to the customer. What evidence must the next reviewer receive with the request? Partner introductions, delivery ownership and commercial credit are separate decisions.

01

Name the shared objective

Explain the customer or business problem the partnership should address. Identify why each organization would participate and what each can contribute. A broad interest in collaboration is not enough to decide which opportunities deserve attention.

02

Match capabilities and constraints

Assess delivery capacity, customer access, product fit and the work required to connect them. Make assumptions about exclusivity, account ownership and support visible early. Due diligence and contract decisions remain with the organizations and their appropriate advisors. Working example: Qualification and referral handoff brief.

03

Design the customer handoff

Map referral, qualification, delivery and escalation responsibilities. Explain what information can be shared and who communicates with the customer at each stage. A partner promise must fit the service the receiving team can provide. For insurance operations and specialist review, agree how client operations, specialist reviewers and systems support contribute where those functions are involved.

04

Use a bounded first engagement

Choose an initial opportunity with clear responsibilities and review criteria. Track practical handoffs and customer experience as well as commercial activity. Use the findings to decide whether the relationship should expand or change. Review check: Referrals can be traced through an agreed next step.

THE RIGHT FIT APPROACH

From your objective
to a scoped engagement.

01

Define the missing capability

Review the objective, current resources and partner contribution required. Create a clear brief for assessing relevant organizations. Bring an example of a referral that stalled.

02

Explore the operating fit

Examine mutual value, customer ownership and delivery dependencies. Develop a proposed first scope with named decision owners.

03

Review the first collaboration

Assess the agreed handoffs, obligations and customer outcome. Resolve operating gaps before expanding the relationship.

PLANNING THE ENGAGEMENT

Questions about support in Connecticut.

What makes a referral qualified?

Agree the customer problem, fit and information required for a useful conversation. A contact name alone does not establish a suitable opportunity.

How do we know if we need a partner or a supplier?

Look at the objective, shared incentives and accountability. A defined purchased service may be a supplier relationship; a partnership needs a clear reason for both organizations to invest in a shared result.

What should be agreed before a referral arrangement begins?

Clarify qualification, account ownership, information sharing, response expectations and escalation. Commercial and contractual terms should be reviewed by the appropriate owners before they are accepted.

How should a first collaboration be measured?

Choose measures that reflect the objective and operating relationship, such as qualified referrals, completed handoffs and delivery issues. Do not treat a signed agreement as proof that the partnership is working.
