01Technology that supports manufacturing work
Describe the applications, interfaces and operational users the employee will serve. Clarify the boundary between IT support, business systems and equipment responsibilities. Ask candidates to explain an incident they owned, the information they used and how they kept colleagues working while the issue was resolved.
02Data and reporting with a defined purpose
Identify the management questions the role must answer and the source systems available. Distinguish recurring analysis from data engineering and application maintenance. Assess examples of checking incomplete records and communicating limitations, so a polished dashboard does not become the only evidence of useful analytical judgment.
03Finance in a lean operating team
Explain the balance between close responsibilities, planning and operational analysis. Identify where information comes from and which decisions the hire can make. The search should test the primary responsibility at the required depth rather than place several undefined finance functions behind one attractive job title.
04Location and specialist support
State the actual office or facility, attendance expectations and travel requirements. Explain which colleagues or external partners provide specialist support. Candidates need a realistic view of the scope, especially when a role requires independent judgment across several connected systems or operating teams.
